About Me

When I’m not in class, I spend as much time outdoors as I can! I’m an active member of the Wombats, Skidmore’s ultimate frisbee team, traveling far and wide for tournaments in both the fall and spring semesters. I’ve made countless friends through the Wombats, with whom I love to be creative. From linocut prints to watercolors to cyanotype prints, my craft bins are constantly overflowing.

I grew up in the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts, and it wasn’t until I came home from college for the first time that I realized how special it is to me. I’ve spent the last three summers in the Pioneer Valley, working in the community, hiking, canoeing, picnicking, and frolicking, feeling ever so more connected to the beautiful land. This summer, I enjoyed harvesting fruit and veggies from my garden, seeing live music with friends, and spending time with family.

Everyone’s hometowns have their flaws. Amherst certainly has its flaws, but in the summertime, when the college students have left, the sun sets at 8:30, the grass is lush and green, and the farms’ produce is abundant, it feels like the land is breathing a sigh of relief. I’ll always be grateful for my summers at home, but if it taught me anything, it’s that one day I’ll be back. For now, though, I must adventure and see more of the country.

Art

Art has always been a connecting thread for many facets of my life–especially my time outside. The colors, shapes, and patterns I find in nature provide me with endless inspiration. How can these organisms, grown so wildly, be so intricate and detailed?
